The idea behind getting a good night's rest sounds simple enough. Turn the lights out. Turn the t.v. off. Snuggle under the covers. Close your eyes. Drift serenely into unconsciousness. Wake up in about 8 hours, refreshed and ready to take on the day. That sounds like the best meditation to me!
All I have to say is, if only! I've read many times, in many different articles that Americans are some of the most chronically sleep deprived people on the planet. I definitely fit into that category. Getting enough sleep is essential for our bodies and minds to be in optimum shape. Yet, most of us can't seem to find enough hours in the day to accomplish everything we'd like.
I challenge you to get yourself in bed tonight and get an honest to goodness full night's sleep. If you are having trouble floating off to la la land, count sheep! I'm only kidding! Here is a marvelous article with tips on how to catch some z's. Sweet dreams.
